Tutoring

Title 1 Information

  • Title I was passed in 1965 under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). It is the largest federal assistance program for our nation’s schools.
  • Title I schools receive extra funding (Title I dollars) from the federal government. These dollars are used to:
    identify students experiencing academic difficulties and provide assistance to help these students;
    purchase additional staff, programs, materials, and/or supplies; and conduct parent and family engagement meetings, trainings, events, and/or activities.

  • Unicycle – Our building participates in clothing recycle. When students have grown out of their school clothing, families may donate gently used school clothing and jeans to the Unicycle basket located at the front entrance of the school. School uniform donations needed, shoes up to size 6 kids, khaki, navy, or black skirts, shorts, and pants up to kids size 14-16. plain colored collared shirts up to kids size 14-16.
  • Community Health – To best support our students, we need them to be healthy. Our supports come through a myriad of community services offered by our school and services within our expanded community. Our partners, Well Child and The Tennessee Health Department provide services that are extended to students that ensure the basic health of our students is supported through wellness and dental offered services. We also believe that healthy means active. Our goal is to provide wellness activities that encourage a healthy lifestyle for our students.
  • Our School Counseling Department is here to ensure that every student has access to Drug & Alcohol Prevention Education as well as, Non-Bullying Sessions. We also collaborate with our technology Teacher, to offer sessions about Online Safety. Social Emotional Learning is very essential to the development of elementary students. We utilize the support to share with families in the educational development of the whole child.
